Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education
The Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education of Northwest Arkansas was established January 1999 in Springdale through a generous gift from Lawrence H. Schmieding to the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.
The mission of Schmieding Center is to improve the quality of life for older adults and their families through education and patient care.
This center serves eleven counties in Northwest Arkansas: Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Izard, Madison, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Stone, and Washington.

Schmieding Center for Senior Education
The Schmieding Center for Education is dedicated to: (1) offering educational programs and consultation services related to home care and caregiving, (2) addressing older adult issues of aging for the community, and (3) improving the geriatric expertise of health care professional and student.
The Center provides a unique training program to provide initial and continuing education for individuals who seek a career as a caregiver or for family members/significant others who are providing care for an older adult in the home setting.
In July 2002, three outreach sites were developed within the Schmieding Center structure with monies received from the Tobacco Settlement fund through the Arkansas Aging Initiative. These Centers are located in Bella Vista, Harrison, and Mountain Home and they provide education programs for the community and health care professionals.
