Arkansas Geriatric Education Center (AGEC)

On July 1, 1999, the Arkansas Geriatric Education Center (AGEC) was established through a three year grant from the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA). The objectives for the AGEC are:

  1. to improve training opportunities and continuing education in geriatrics to health professionals who are practicing in Arkansas;
  2. to develop interprofessional courses and materials for students in the health professions in the colleges and universities in Arkansas; and
  3. to offer opportunities in geriatric training to faculty who teach or supervise students in the health professions. The goal is to improve the knowledge and skills of health care providers who care for older Arkansans.

For more information visit the AGEC web site.
